Our organization began as a group of friends who had a vision to help new enlistees feel more comfortable with the decision to serve in the military by providing a sense of community.
We saw a need for Veteran organizations to cultivate younger membership and realized that younger veterans don’t really feel comfortable enough to seek out membership because typically there is a large disparity in age.
Ultimately, our aim is to bridge the gap by introducing new enlistees to the veterans organization and the positives that can be gained by both
sides.
New Boots New Roots exists to welcome, support, and empower newly enlisted service members and their families as they begin their
military journey.
Through mentorship, community, and purpose-driven connection, we help young service members plant
strong roots within the veteran
organizations fostering personal growth, life-long camaraderie, and continued service beyond the uniform.
We will be an outreach program for newly-enlisted service members to create a community of support through boot camp, service, and
beyond.
We will connect them with veterans to be mentors, provide a support system for their families while enlisted, and assist with any additional support through already established veteran programs.
We want to simply provide a place for the new veteran to feel connected.
We start by reaching out to the new enlistees before Graduation in an effort to help celebrate their decision to serve by having a celebration barbecue at the veterans organization. The goal is to form relationships with veterans who can offer support for the enlistees as well as their families, and to foster a growing relationship in the veteran community.
During their service they could
expect the occasional check-in by sending a letter, and possibly a live stream of their graduation ceremony from boot camp for family and friends that may not be able to travel.
Throughout their service we would continue with check-ins and offer care packages during possible deployments to keep them involved with the community here at home and keep morale high.
New Boots New Roots is organized as a Not-for-Profit Corporation under laws of the State of New Jersey and is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization pursuant of SS501 C (3) of the IRC.DD
